ART & FLOWER SHOW & RECIPROCITY TEA

This spring event is our gift to the community.  Invitations and flyers are distributed to the local community.  While enjoying a beautiful traditional high tea, guests have the opportunity to enjoy members’ decorated tables and their artistic displays.

FASHION SHOW AND SILENT AUCTION:

Our last fundraiser before our summer break is held in the spring. We feature local business’ fashions and use members as models.  Ticket price includes an afternoon of lunch, fashions, and an opportunity to bid on Silent Auction items.  The event is open to the public.

LITTLE FREE LIBRARY

We have two little libraries at Mental Health Systems.  Appropriate books are provided to the children’s and the adult libraries each month.  The books are donated or purchased with funds given to FGWC.

READING PROGRAM

This project is conducted at Rescue the Children which is a division of the Fresno Rescue Mission.  Our volunteer members have been reading a minimum of once a month with the children since 2015.   Readings are held every Wednesday and Friday throughout the year.

BOOK TALK

Open to all members.  Members discuss books they are reading or interested in reading with other participants.  It is held on the 3rd Thursday of the month.

KNITTING ’N NEEDLES

Open to all members.  Do you like to play with threads?  Knit, crochet, embroider, etc. – or want to learn?  Join members on the 3rd Monday of the month.

OUT TO LUNCH BUNCH

This is a great way to keep connected over the summer.  Participation is optional.  This is an opportunity to join other members and their friends for lunch at many of the restaurants in the Fresno/Clovis area.  Non-hosted prices vary.

BRIDGE MARATHON

Here’s an opportunity to play bridge every month.  Scores are accumulated over the year, with prizes presented in May at the Marathon Luncheon.  Participants must join the group prior to the schedule being set in the fall.

GET ACQUAINTED COFFEE

FGWC holds two coffees a year.  It is an opportunity to gather in a member’s home to get to know other members.  The committee provides finger foods and refreshments.

GENERAL MEETINGS

Meetings are held on the 2nd Wednesday of the month, September through May.  The General Meeting includes lunch, a guest speaker, and a business meeting.
